Doris Day was an American actress and singer who began her career as a big band singer in 1939. She achieved commercial success in 1945 with two No. 1 recordings, "Sentimental Journey" and "My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time" with Les Brown & His Band of Renown before embarking on a solo career and recording more than 650 songs from 1947 to 1967.
Recorded in 1967 and featuring the Grammy Hall of Fame singer-actress’ favorite romantic standards, The Love Album represented the most sensual, intimate vocals of Day's legendary career. It’s considered by critics to be among her best from the 1960’s and Day considered it her favorite album.
